At 29NRTH, we understand that filmmaking and content creation is collaborative art. We work together to produce media that inspires change, builds relationships, and tells stories that impact our communities locally and globally.

Javan Ward

Founder — Producer & Director

Javan is a multi-talented creative entrepreneur with an extensive background in brand storytelling, commercial & documentary photography, video production, experiential travel design, destination marketing, and social-first content creation.

His experience producing media for award-winning superyacht brands; Indo Yachts and Dunia Baru Adventures; led him to the development and documentation of an eco-learning center in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Inspired by symbiosis between the natural world and humanity, he finds the importance of storytelling at the heart of culture.

Raised amongst the forests, rivers, and mountains around the Pacific Northwest, Javan finds himself at home in the most remote regions on earth. He has traveled the world and documented his experiences as a digital nomad over a period of 4 years. His return home to Central Oregon marks the opening act of 29NRTH.

Danielle Caruso

Associate Producer & Marketing

With a robust background in television production, experiential marketing, and entrepreneurship, Danielle is driven to tell stories in collaboration with impact-oriented brands. While working in production at NBC Sports for five years, she pursued her MBA at Crummer Graduate School of Business.  

For nearly a decade since, Danielle has executed a myriad of projects including producing Madness Days — a music and camping festival, lead marketing strategy for Melvin Brewing, developed partnerships with brands like Arc’teryx, Teton Gravity Research, and Absinthe Films. She also built branded concepts such as the “Experimental Series” with visual and musical artist, Rumtum.

Nathanial Ewing

Operations Manager & Production Assistant

Nate brings an insider’s perspective in travel management, provisioning, and destination expertise. With 29NRTH’s keen focus on producing travel films and adventure content, he plays a key role.

He is also the founder of Exclusively Alaska, a Juneau-based yacht services company providing seasonal support for intrepid superyacht expeditions in the Alaskan seas.

His expertise in travel logistics, operations management, and entrepreneurial savvy enable Nate to lead all company operations.

Alex Emberlin

Drone Pilot & Camera Operator

Coming from a family of artists, Alex graduated from Oregon State University where he studied digital arts. As a Pacific Northwest creative, he has worked on countless music videos, documentaries, and live events for clients such as Timberline, Toyota, W+K, Adidas, and Astral. With multiple expertise areas, his knowledge encompasses RED, ARRI, Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, and DJI cameras. As a Part 107 remote pilot, Alex has flown the Inspire, Phantom, Alta, Autel platforms, and has operated cameras on the platforms that support dual operation. Known for his creativity, inspiration, and innovation, he aspires to set the benchmark for cinema productions shot by drone.

Daniel Hurst

Cinematographer & DP

Daniel seamlessly combines his unique perspective with new technologies, exploring ways to present fresh takes on popular topics. Daniel has worked as a photojournalist, commercial photographer, cinematographer, and specialty camera operator. Some of Daniel’s specialties include slow motion, tabletop, food, liquids, product, as well as helicopter aerials, air to air, and automotive cinematography.

Clients include Red Bull, Adidas, Microsoft, Honda, Coca-Cola, Dutch Bros., Canon, Nissan, Chevrolet, The Travel Channel, Disney, BBC, Warner Bros., CBS, Discovery Channel, ESPN, MTV, and NBC.

Tim Kane

Editor & Camera Operator

Born and bred in Oregon, Tim first picked up a camera to fuse his love of skateboarding and DIY filmmaking. After studying Advertising at Portland State University, he began his career as an art director, editor, and cinematographer.

With an eye for motion, Tim sees the angles few ever realize. His talent for creativity on set and in post-production allows him to navigate seamless transitions between imagination and reality. He looks to nature for inspiration.

Summer Wuerthner

Photographer — Talent Manager

Summer is a photographer, creative director, producer, stylist, and occasional unpaid actress. She began her journey with photography purely for the pursuit of art but, as she defined her skills, the pursuit led her on a path to professionalism. Her work through light and composition conveys authentic emotion and beauty. Her attention to these aspects align to create cohesion in her work bridging unique places, color palette, styling and diverse subjects.

Summer’s prowess lies in her ability to create ambiance and aesthetics that translate through the timeless portal of still images. She shines behind the lens using her artistic eye to develop concepts and unique visual composition of light and matter in turn, working with her subjects and fellow creatives to bring them to life.
